Job title:
Doctoral Candidate (Fellowship) within the NCN SONATA 19 project ‘Overcoming Debye screening limitations with hybrid graphene-nanotube devices in multi-biomarker sepsis diagnostics’.
Requirements for Candidates:
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) or Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related fields;
- Ph.D. status or willingness to be recruited to the PW Doctoral School;
- Experience in the design and implementation of (bio)sensors, with preference for previous publications on electrochemical/electronic bio-sensors;
- Knowledge of data analysis, with preference for automated methods using programming languages (e.g. Python);
- Experience working in a clean-room environment will be an advantage;
- Good manual skills;
- Very good verbal and written English language skills;
- Strong motivation to learn and think innovatively.
Research tasks:
- Investigating the properties of field-effect transistor-based biosensors in the context of multi-biomarker diagnostics;
- Design and optimisation of graphene-nanotube hybrid devices;
- Data analysis and experimentation in the laboratory.

The evaluation of the Candidates’ applications will be carried out by the Scholarship Committee (hereinafter: Committee) in accordance with the Rules of Awarding NCN Scientific Scholarships in research projects from the funds of the National Science Centre. At the same time, the Commission reserves the right not to award a scholarship and to renew the competition. Selected persons will be individually invited for an interview at CEZAMAT, 19 Poleczki St. in Warsaw. The closing date of the competition is 15.12.2024.

- CV taking into account the above-mentioned expectations (previous scientific achievements, including publications, awards and distinctions, participation in conferences, etc.).
Please include the following clause in the submitted documentation:

- The obligation to provide personal data is necessary in order to apply for and receive the grant. The consequence of not providing certain data will be the rejection of the application;
- Decisions will not be made by automated means with regard to the Scholarship Holder’s personal data;
- The Scholarship Holder has:
- pursuant to Article 15 of the DPA, the right to access their personal data;
- pursuant to Article 16 of the DPA, the right to rectify his/her personal data;
- Pursuant to Article 18 RODO, the right to request the controller to restrict the processing of their personal data, subject to the cases referred to in Article 18(2) RODO;
- The right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for the Protection of Personal Data if he/she considers that the processing of personal data violates the provisions of the RODO;
- The grantee is not entitled to:
- in relation to Article 17(3)(b), (d) or (e) RODO, the right to erasure of personal data;
- The right to data portability referred to in Article 20 RODO;
- pursuant to Article 21 RODO, the right to object to the processing of personal data, as the legal basis for the processing of the Contractor’s personal data is Article 6(1)(b) RODO.
