RETC Summer School 2025 at CEZAMAT PW
Between 28–31 July 2025, the RETC Summer School 2025 was held at the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT PW. The event was an intensive training program dedicated to 60 Polish students specializing in nuclear energy and related fields.
The Summer School was organized as part of the collaboration between the Governments of Poland 🇵🇱 and the United States 🇺🇸, under the Regional Energy Training Center (RETC) initiative, formerly known as CETC. The program aims to support the development of the Polish nuclear energy sector by educating and training future professionals.
The event was inaugurated with a lecture by a representative of the Polish National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), focusing on the general principles of nuclear safety. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Polish and U.S. governments, Warsaw University of Technology, CEZAMAT PW, and coordinating staff from participating universities.
The training sessions were led by experts from the renowned Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Participants explored topics related to nuclear safety, and had the opportunity to learn about the AP1000 reactor technology, which is expected to be used in Poland’s first nuclear power plant. The program concluded with a study visit to the National Centre for Nuclear Research.
