We are pleased to announce that M.Sc Eng. Monika Maciejewska from the Department of Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, and Genomics at Cezamat participated in the prestigious EU TalentON 2024 hackathon held in Katowice, the European City of Science. This event brought together young talented specialists from across Europe, who worked collaboratively on solving key global challenges.

During the hackathon, the team consisting of: Monika Maciejewska, Palak Bhavesh, Paula Blanco Vázquez, Vedika Kapoor, and Mateusz Zuber achieved an honorable 3rd place in the area of “Cancer Prevention and Care“. The topic focused on a crucial but often underestimated aspect of oncological treatment—preserving fertility in women undergoing and after chemotherapy. The project aimed to raise awareness and develop innovative solutions to help women undergoing cancer treatment preserve their fertility and improve their quality of life.
