Junior Researcher/ Senior Process Design and Automation Specialist in Research Team

Location, Employment Form, and Conditions:
• Employment Type: Full-time employment contract.
• Workplace: Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT, Warsaw University of Technology, 19 Poleczki Street, 02-822 Warsaw.
• Contract Duration: Initial 3-month probation period, with a total contract duration of 56 months, including the probationary period.
• Role: Participation in a prestigious research project titled „Personalized Diagnostics of Vascular Endothelium in Oncology Therapy; Towards Modern Vascular-Oncology” – ADEVASCO.
Responsibilities:
• Manufacturing of microfluidic cassette elements and parts of the flow management system using micro-milling, laser cutting, and 3D printing techniques.
• Design of the flow management system and testing of its functionality.
Role in the Research Team:
The Senior Process Design and Automation Specialist will serve as support staff, assisting other team members by:
• Preparing cassette components via appropriate production techniques (e.g., laser cutting, micro-milling, 3D printing).
• Mechanically processing and assembling components into complete cassettes.
• Testing the functionality of the flow management system, optimizing its performance, and programming its control systems.
• Designing and conducting experiments.
Requirements:
• Ph.D. – preferred disciplines: mechanical engineering or automation, electronics and electrical engineering;
• Proficiency in micro-milling, laser cutting, and 3D printing techniques.
• Familiarity with microcontroller programming (experience with STM or Raspberry Pi microcontrollers is an advantage).
• Adherence to non-competition rules in line with WIB program guidelines.
• Teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in English (B2/C1/C2 level).
Obligations Under the Project Agreement:
The recruited team member must:
• Maintain confidentiality regarding project-related information, especially Intellectual Property (IP).
• Avoid any professional activities exceeding 276 hours per month across all engagements.
• Refrain from direct or indirect competitive activities that could compromise IP protection or commercialization.
• Transfer intellectual property rights to the Warsaw University of Technology in a way that enables further transfer to the State Treasury, represented by the relevant minister.
• Cooperate on securing IP protection and commercialization, including authorizing IP owners to exercise moral rights.

Recruitment Process:
• Document Review: Application documents will be reviewed by the recruitment committee.
• Interviews: Selected candidates will be invited for an in-person or remote interview.
• Evaluation: The committee will summarize findings, and results will be emailed to candidates and posted on the CEZAMAT website within 10 days of completing the recruitment process.
Candidate Evaluation Criteria:
1. Doctoral degree in a relevant field.
2. Expertise in micro-milling, laser cutting, and 3D printing techniques.
3. Experience in microcontroller programming.
4. Familiarity with STM and Raspberry Pi microcontrollers.
5. Proficiency in English.
6. Experience in project execution.
7. Additional achievements.
Criteria (2–7) will be scored from 0 to 6 by each committee member, with 21 points required for consideration.
In case of ties, points from criteria (2, 3, 4) will determine the final decision.

Your data will be retained for the duration of the recruitment process and thereafter as necessary for legal claims or other statutory requirements.
