position as researcher/specialist/assistant professor

in the projects „Advanced Photonic Integrated Circuits Pilot Line for Europe – PIXEurope”

funded by the from Horizon Europe under GA Project 101213727 and Partners‘ National Public Authorities and

„FD-SOI Pilot Line for Applications with embedded non-volatile Memories, RF, 3D integration and PMIC, to ensure European Sovereignty” (FAMES) funded by Horizon Europe Authorities under GA 101182279 and Ministry of Science and Higer Education Republic of Poland under GA No. MNiSW/2025/DIR/849

 

Location, Employment Form, and Conditions:

• Employment Type: employment contract (min. 0,5 FTE).
• Workplace: Warsaw University of Technology
• Contract Duration: Initial 3-month probation period, with a total contract duration of minimum 18 months, including the probationary period.
• Role: Participation in a research projects titled „Advanced Photonic Integrated Circuits Pilot Line for Europe – PIXEurope” and „FD-SOI Pilot Line for Applications with embedded non-volatile Memories, RF, 3D integration and PMIC, to ensure European Sovereignty”

 

 Responsibilities in the Research Team

• Participation in research and development work on materials for RRAM semiconductor memories and phase change materials (PCM, PTM) and their application in integrated photonics devices
• Participation in the design and modelling of components using the developed materials
• Participation in development and optimization of integration processes for PCM materials with photonic platforms (e.g., silicon)
• Preparation of test structure designs and participation in their fabrication in collaboration with the technology team
• Conducting experiments and optical, electrical, and/or material characterization of developed materials and structures
• Analysis of the physical properties of materials and their impact on device performance
• Development and interpretation of measurement results and theoretical
• Preparation of technical documentation, scientific publications, and reports on ongoing work
• Collaboration with an interdisciplinary project team (physicists, electronics engineers, technologists)

 

Requirements:

• Higher education in physics, electronics, photonics, or a related field (PhD preferred)
• Good knowledge of materials physics
• Knowledge of microelectronics and/or integrated photonics
• Experience in experimental work and/or numerical modeling
• Ability to analyze experimental data and work with scientific literature
• Experience working in a cleanroom laboratory or with semiconductor device manufacturing technologies is desirable
• Ability to work in a team and independently organize research
• High motivation to conduct research and develop new technologies
• Very good command of English
• English language at very good level

 

Recruitment Process:

• Document Review: Application documents will be reviewed by the recruitment committee.
• Interviews: Selected candidates will be invited for an in-person or remote interview.
• Evaluation: The committee will summarize findings, and results will be emailed to candidates and posted on the CEZAMAT website within 10 days of completing the recruitment process.
