Two CEZAMAT WUT Projects Awarded Funding under the PERUN Programme
The Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT of Warsaw University of Technology (CEZAMAT PW) has been selected among the institutions whose projects have been approved for funding under the New Technologies in the Area of National Security and Defence (PERUN) programme, implemented by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).
Following the conclusion of the subsequent stage of the programme, a ceremonial signing of funding agreements for the projects selected for implementation took place.
CEZAMAT WUT Projects under the PERUN Programme
As part of the PERUN programme, funding was awarded to two projects led by Warsaw University of Technology – the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT:
- SOWA – Night Vision Goggle System with an Expanded Field of View,
- NOKTOR – Night Vision Goggle System with an Increased Depth of Field.
Research and development activities will be carried out in cooperation with scientific teams from the Faculty of Physics of Warsaw University of Technology. The projects focus on the development of advanced photonic technologies, the application of which will enhance the performance parameters of night vision systems, including improved situational awareness, ergonomics, and user safety in operational conditions.

The conference was also attended by the project leaders: Dr. Urszula Laudyn, PhD Eng., University Professor (NOKTOR project), and Dr. Jarosław Suszek, PhD Eng. (SOWA project).
Cooperation and the Significance of the PERUN Programme
During the conference, it was emphasized that the PERUN programme constitutes an important instrument for strengthening national research and development capabilities by enabling the effective use of the potential of Polish research institutions and enterprises equipped with advanced infrastructure and experienced research teams. Attention was also drawn to the role of programmes such as PERUN in developing solutions that can be successfully implemented to meet the needs of the Polish Armed Forces.
The projects implemented by CEZAMAT WUT are carried out within a consortium-based model, combining the scientific potential of Warsaw University of Technology with the expertise of military research institutes and industrial partners. This approach enables technologies to be designed from the outset with practical application and integration with existing systems in mind.
