CEZAMAT WUT as a partner in the European PIXEurope project
Warsaw University of Technology (Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics, Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT) is part of the international consortium of the PIXEurope project, which aims to create the first open ecosystem for photonic integrated circuits (PICs). This initiative is part of the European Chips Act and is being carried out under the CHIPS Joint Undertaking program, supported by the European Union, as well as private and public partners.
The objective of the PIXEurope project – the PIXEurope project focuses on:
- developing innovative technologies for the design and manufacturing of photonic
- integrated circuits (PICs),
- developing of integration processes and implementation of advanced packaging and testing technologies,
- advancing technological solutions for key industrial sectors.
A modern pilot line – the project envisions the creation of a modern pilot line that will enable:
- rapid prototyping and deployment of groundbreaking solutions in the field of photonics,
- evaluation of production processes to be transferred to industrial scale,
- development of products based on photonic integrated circuits, applicable across multiple industries.
The importance of the project for Europe PIXEurope brings together partners from Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, and it represents a key element of the strategy aimed at strengthening Europe’s semiconductor industry. We are proud that WUT is participating in the implementation of innovative projects that contribute to building a future based on knowledge, technology, and collaboration.
