Internship as an award in the “Best of the Best at WUT” competition
Ewa Kijeńska-Gawrońska, PhD, from the CEZAMAT Centre for Advanced Materials and Technology at the Warsaw University of Technology, is doing an internship at the Marmara University in Istanbul.
As many as 4 employees of CEZAMAT WUT were winners of the first edition of the competition ‘Best of the Best at WUT’. Thanks to this competition, Ewa Kijeńska-Gawrońska from the Department of Medical Biotechnology was able to take part in a month’s internship at the Center for Nanotechnology & Biomaterials Applications and Research at Marmara University.
The Center for Nanotechnology & Biomaterials Applications and Research is engaged in conducting basic and applied research in the field of biomaterials and nanotechnology. The center’s experts conduct research into, among other things, the production of biomaterials by bioprinting and electrospinning methods, perform advanced syntheses of materials and nanoparticles for tissue scaffolds and drug carriers, and deal with the advanced characterization of the material and biological properties of the produced materials.
Ewa Kijeńska-Gawronska’s research internship concerns the use of melt electrowriting of polymeric and composite materials and hydrogel bioprinting to produce 3D hybrid structures for biomaterial applications.
The ‘Best of the Best at WUT’ competition is designed to support young scientists in the development of their academic careers and is implemented as part of the ‘Excellence Initiative – Research University’ program.
