SHUTTLE project got funding under the Digital Europe Programme

6 July 2026

We lead the faculties of Warsaw University of Technology in the SHUTTLE – SHow eU Talent Through chalLenge-based compEtitions – project which got funding under the Digital Europe Programme.

The project brings together European universities, research organisations, innovation networks, companies and ecosystem stakeholders to develop a European large-scale students’ competition framework for advanced digital skills. SHUTTLE will organise three challenge-based competitions in six strategic technology areas: Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Worlds, Quantum, Semiconductors, Destination Earth, and Robotics and Autonomous Systems.

As a consortium partner, WUT contributes its expertise in advanced technologies, micro- and nanoelectronics, semiconductor-related research infrastructure, AI, HPC, Industry 4.0 and applied engineering validation. Within the project, WUT will support the design and validation of competition challenges, participant enablement, mentoring, technical evaluation and dissemination activities. WUT is also foreseen as the competition owner for the Semiconductors area in one of the project editions and as a domain anchor for Destination Earth and geospatial pipelines.

Participation in SHUTTLE strengthens WUT’s engagement in European initiatives supporting advanced digital skills, semiconductor competence development and applied technology education. The project will help students and young talents develop practical, evidence-based competences through MVPs, demonstrators, challenge packs and structured evaluation.

The SHUTTLE project is planned as a 36-month action.
